By Childhood Friends Mc’s Hurrikane Pre, Phatman & Goddam…& are also a founding group of “Welli Deep Authentic” a collaboration of mc’s, B’boys, B girls, graph artists, beat-boxers and Dj’s, which includes all of Wellington’s forefront Hip-Hop crews.

This weeks artist of the week goes to “Recommended Dosage”. After the successful independent release of their self titled E.P, Rec Dose are ready to bring the long awaited album “Tricks Of The Trade” from the underground to the commercial airwaves. The last three years have been a blur for Young Sid (Otara). The respected South Auckland M.C. hasn’t stopped working since the 2007 release of his acclaimed debut, The Truth. King Kapisi
On stage Wellington-born Samoan King Kapisi, aka Bill Urale, is a Kiwi hip-hop icon and legend.
He’s performed at nearly every major New Zealand music event and alongside The Black Eyed Peas,Janet Jackson and the Beastie Boys, to name just a few.
Earlier this year he added another notch to an already impressive touring CV with his first ever appearance at the legendary Glastonbury Festival in England .
Back home in Blockhouse Bay , however, the basketball-loving father-of-four is a lot like you and me – he loves hanging with his family and friends. His latest venture, is the Release of his New Magazine “OVERDUE” this Thursday (24th Nov) night at Cosh Bar (Aklnd City). Tune in to hear King Kapisi on heavy rotation all this week. Tyree (South Auckland), a member of the acclaimed Move The Crowd Records group “Smashproof” was nominated for two awards at the second-annual Australian Urban Music Awards – and won Best Male Artist for his debut album “Now or Never” Tyree was also the lead songwriter and performer on DJ Sir-Vere’s “Turn It Up”, which was was nominated for Best Video – all of which have been fine achievements for Tyree and the prospering New Zealand based label MTC. This year, Tyree continues to work hard with the release of  “I do it for my City” and his latest single “Saviour”. Check Tyree on heavy rotation all this week.
